Transforming Solidrok Constructions' online image into a solid foundation for growth.

Transforming Solidrok Constructions' online image into a solid foundation for growth.

Solidrok Constructions, a Melbourne-based construction company specialising in concrete pouring, sought to bolster their online presence in 2018. Leveraging my expertise in web development and photography, I embarked on a project to design and develop a user-friendly, visually appealing website that would effectively showcase their services and expertise.

Brochure-Style Design with a Dynamic Touch

Skills: Digital Design, UI/UX, CSS, Wordpress, Elementor, Dynamic Content, Template Build, Sketch Prototyping
Software Used: Sketch, Photoshop

During our initial consultation, we agreed upon a brochure-style website that would combine informative content with captivating visuals. To ensure seamless content management and a user-friendly experience, I implemented Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create a dynamic content management system. This allowed for efficient updates and flexibility in content presentation.

The website’s design harmoniously integrated Theinhardt as the body font and Tiempos for headlines, creating a professional and visually appealing aesthetic. Leveraging on-site photos, I curated a cohesive look that aligned with Solidrok’s brand colours, reinforcing their corporate identity throughout the site.

Building Dynamically with ACF and Elementor

To develop the website’s backend, I utilised WordPress as the content management system, harnessing the power of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and Elementor for streamlined development. My workflow involved designing high-quality visuals in Sketch, which were then transformed into section blocks using Elementor. These blocks were dynamically populated with content using ACF labels, creating a seamless integration between design and functionality.

Responsive Design

Recognising the increasing use of mobile devices to access websites, I implemented a mobile-first design approach. The website was meticulously crafted to adapt seamlessly to various screen sizes, ensuring optimal viewing and interaction on smartphones, tablets, and desktops. This approach prioritised the mobile user experience, ensuring that Solidrok’s services were accessible to potential clients wherever they were.

Photography – Capturing the Essence of Construction

Skills: Photography
Software Used: Photoshop, Lightroom

Instead of relying on generic stock photography, I took the initiative to capture the essence of Solidrok’s work through a dedicated on-site photo shoot. On a chilly Melbourne winter day, I documented the skilled craftsmen as they poured and shaped concrete into solid forms. These images were carefully curated and integrated into the website, adding a personal touch and authentic representation of Solidrok’s expertise.

A Swift and Successful Project Delivery

The Solidrok Constructions website was successfully completed and delivered within a two-month timeframe. This project provided a valuable opportunity for me to further hone my skills in dynamic website development, an area I am truly passionate about. Although Solidrok’s operations have since ceased due to the pandemic, the website remains a testament to the power of design and technology to effectively showcase a company’s brand and services.
