Building a Dynamic Website – Custom Fields and Conditional Logic

Leveraging WordPress as the foundation, I began by creating high-definition mockups in Sketch to visualize the desired layout and design. These mockups served as a blueprint for constructing the main framework templates in Elementor, a powerful page builder that enabled me to translate the design vision into a functional website.
To enhance the website’s flexibility and content management capabilities, I implemented custom fields using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). By incorporating conditional logic within the Elementor templates, I ensured that specific content blocks or sections would only appear if relevant data was entered in the corresponding custom fields. This approach streamlined the content creation process and ensured consistency across the website.
Hero Images, Sliders, and Large Typography
The website’s design features eye-catching hero images, bold typography, and dynamic sliders that showcase the latest news and calls to action. This visually engaging approach aims to capture the attention of visitors and communicate Apparel 21’s key messages effectively.
The two-grid box design, as illustrated in the examples, not only adds visual interest but also ensures a seamless viewing experience across different devices. This responsive layout adapts to various screen sizes, maintaining its aesthetic appeal and functionality whether viewed on a desktop or mobile device.
Dynamic Content Management
To keep the website up-to-date with the latest product releases and company news, I implemented a dynamic content management system (CMS). By leveraging WordPress and ACF, I created user-friendly forms that allowed the marketing team to easily input and update data, which would then be dynamically displayed on the relevant templates.
This streamlined approach ensured that the website remained fresh and relevant, providing visitors with the latest information on Apparel 21’s cutting-edge POS solutions.
A Sophisticated and Professional Online Presence
The revamped Apparel 21 website successfully communicates the company’s corporate goals and values while maintaining a modern and engaging aesthetic. By adhering to the established style guide, and ensuring brand consistency in terms of colour scheme and fonts, the website exudes a polished and professional look.
